Location – Michigan (Remote)

About the Role:

  • The primary task in this role is to provide Database Support for Mongo databases, including Database Engineering for Performance, Reliability, Scalability, and supportability.
  • This role involves Database Migrations and Upgrades, development of Operating Procedures and processes, and handling multiple assignments concurrently.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with existing Database Platform team project team and application vendor team in requirements gathering and analysis sessions.
  • Analyze, understand, develop and implement existing systems, along with upgrading methodology and strategy.
  • Determine and implement best practices around reliability, performance, scalability, and supportability of Mongo databases.
  • Define project timelines and schedule database upgrades, effectively communicating all milestones to application liaison and leadership.
  • Understand, adhere to, and possibly define unique Database Standards and Processes for Mongo.
  • Provide post migration support and resolve related issues.
  • Work with application teams and project teams to resolve performance issues.
  • Liaison with the architectural team and infrastructure teams to align architectural requirements and ensure timely delivery of infrastructure deliverables.
  • Document upgrade results, findings, and lessons learned.
  • Ensure existing Operation Support documentation is developed and up to date.
  • Perform KT to existing Database Platform teams and others as needed.
  • Create/update DR documents and participate in DR tests if required.
  • Ensure SOX Standards are adhered to and complied with if applicable.

Education Qualification:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, area of study in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or another technical field is strongly preferred.

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in providing support for Mongo systems.
  • Mongo 3.4 and above.
